Born and raised in Osaka, I have spent my whole life walking these neighborhoods. From the famous tourist spots to the tiny backstreet bars and local diners that do not appear on any map, I know this city inside and out.

Which tour should I choose?

If you want maximum flexibility and a tour built around your specific interests, choose the Custom Private Tour. If you want a relaxed evening of food and drinks in Shinsekai with a small group, choose the Shinsekai Street Food Tour. Both are led by the same Osaka-born local guide.

How do I book?

DM us on Instagram @oss_osaka with your preferred dates, group size, and interests. We reply within 24 hours and send a Stripe payment link to confirm your booking. The Shinsekai food tour is also bookable directly on Viator with instant confirmation.

Is food included?

For the Shinsekai food tour, yes, four food stops and three drinks are included in the price. For the Custom Private Tour, food and drinks are paid as you go at each stop, so you choose exactly what and how much you spend. Most guests spend ¥1,500 to ¥3,000 on food during a custom tour.

Where do we meet?

For the Custom Private Tour, we confirm the meeting point with you after booking based on your chosen first area. Common spots include Tanimachi 4-chome (closest to Osaka Castle), Namba, Umeda, or your hotel lobby in central Osaka. For the Shinsekai food tour, we always meet in front of Don Quijote Shinsekai at 17:30.

What language is the tour in?

English. Your guide is Japanese, born and raised in Osaka, and fluent in English. A native Japanese guide means real insider access you will not get elsewhere.

Are children welcome?

Yes. We welcome families on both tours. The Custom Private Tour is best for younger children since the pace is fully adjustable. Children under 6 are free; ages 6 to 12 are 50% off.

What if it rains?

Both tours run rain or shine. Much of central Osaka is covered by shopping arcades, so we adjust the route to stay dry. We only cancel for extreme weather like typhoons, with a full refund or free reschedule.

What is the cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour. Within 24 hours, cancellations are non-refundable. If you have sudden issues, message us and we will do our best to reschedule.

How far in advance should I book?

Custom Private Tour: at least 48 hours ahead so we have time to design your route. Shinsekai food tour: at least 24 hours ahead. Last-minute requests are sometimes possible, just message us.

Can I book for 7 or more people?

Both tours cap at 5 to 6 guests for a personal experience. For groups of 7 or more, message us directly and we will discuss running two parallel tours or a custom split.
